Building & Maintenance

Tshulu Building and Maintenance Services was formed in 2007 as part of the Limpopo Agribusiness Development Academy’s agri-tourism initiative. Five local men (Mr Nndwakhulu Start Mudzanani, Mr Thomson Malala, Mr Khethani Justice Munyai,
Mr Mutshinyalo Ravhura, and Mr. Naledzani Cedric Mulaudzi) spent five months receiving training from Mr Dirk Venter while building Tshulu Camp.

The members of Tshulu Building and Maintenance Services are able to build with brick, stone and wood, and construct metal and thatched roofs. They are also able to install and repair the full range of water reticulation and sanitation facilities, including septic tanks.

Building and Maintenance are also able to install and maintain agricultural irrigation systems and other agricultural buildings.

In January 2008 the building team were trained in the construction of a range of state-of-the art non-water borne sanitation facilities including various types of VIPs (Ventilated Improved Pit latrines) and composting toilets. This training was provided by Jason Rosenfeld of AfricaAHEAD
